Faults in Pickleball: Part II

Faults in Pickleball: Part II

Let's learn more about the rules that can't be violated in part two of "Faults in Pickleball."

  1. Foot Faults: When serving, you must keep at least one foot behind the baseline. Stepping on or over the baseline before making contact with the ball is a fault.

  2. Double Hits: Hitting the ball twice in succession on the same shot is not allowed. The ball must be struck cleanly in one motion.

  3. Out of Bounds: Hitting the ball outside the court boundaries results in a fault. The ball must land within the lines to be considered in play.

  4. Incorrect Server or Receiver: If the wrong player serves or receives, it is considered a fault. Make sure to follow the proper serving and receiving order.

  5. Service Foot Fault: During the serve, if your foot touches the court or the line extending from the court, it is considered a service foot fault.

  6. Ball Hits Permanent Object: If the ball hits a permanent object such as a ceiling, wall, or light fixture, it is a fault.

  7. Wrong Service Court: The serve must go diagonally to the correct service court. Serving to the wrong court results in a fault.

  8. Net Fault: If the ball touches the net but does not land in the correct service court, it is a fault. This includes serves that hit the net and do not land within the service boundaries.
